KOOTA is a deliberately compact firm, led by its founder Thierry Coutaz, who personally runs every assignment — from the feasibility study to the handover of the keys. No anonymous middlemen: a single, reachable contact who knows your project in detail.
This format is a choice. Behind it lie long field experience and a network of vetted partners, to find creative solutions even in the tense situations of the construction world.
KOOTA means "to assemble" in Finnish — and it's also a nod to the founder's name, Coutaz. Assembling skills, trades and ideas.
Since the early 2000s, Thierry Coutaz has designed and managed fit-out projects for demanding brands — retail and luxury boutiques, watchmaking, duty free, institutions and public transport — in Switzerland and abroad, sometimes in highly secured areas.
From that field experience came a conviction: between the architect and the contractors, a role was missing — that of a project conductor serving the client. This is what gave rise to KOOTA.
